Mr Personality staying put

There has been a lot of speculation over the last few days about Alan Shearer taking the Cardiff job, surely the only people happy with this decision would be fans of Swansea city and fans of MOTD. It would of been nice to see Shearer manage Craig Bellamy (had he stayed on) following there chequered history (catch up here) and even nicer to see him leave the MOTD couch, but it looks like it aint gonna be.

Big Al had this to say about the whole thing -
“I can confirm I was one of the candidates the club spoke to about the vacant manager’s position at Cardiff City.
“During these talks I was most impressed with the vision, ambition and determination of the owner Dato Chan Tien Ghee and the board.
“Unfortunately, those talks were unsuccessful on this occasion.
“Cardiff City is a great club and I wish them every success next season.”

So that’s that then, where gonna be stuck with Alan’s riveting football analysis for a little longer, look on the bright side though least it won’t give Gary Neville the opportunity to get on the MOTD sofa once sky get sick of him.

Weekend Predictions

Hello all,

Below are this Saturdays premier league fixture predictions and i'm feeling very confident this week. Please leave your alternative predictions in the comments section.

Arsenal v Bolton – Home win
Arsnel will prove too strong at home for bolton, im saying clean sheet and pleanty of goals from the gunners.
Match Fact - The Trotters have lost all five Premier League games against 'Big Four' clubs this season, and have not scored in the last four.

Aston Villa v West Brom - Draw
Villa are flying at the moment and West Brom not so but this been a derby it could go either way, im saying low score draw though
Match Fact - Albion are chasing a first ever Premier League victory over Villa and a first league win over them at Villa Park in 30 years, since a 0-1 triumph on 11 May 1979 when John Trewick's goal separated the sides.

Everton v Hull - Draw
Evertons defence has been solid at home this season in the last few games and i see that continuing against Hull. At the same time though both teams have struggled for goals recently so ill say no score draw
Match Fact - Everton are fourth top and Hull fourth bottom in the Premier League's "form" table, with 13 and five points out of 18 respectively.

Fulham v Blackburn - Home win
Fulham have surprissed many this season with thier good form and hold the joint longest current unbeaten sequence in the top division. Blackburn on the other hand lack goals and have a leaky defence, Got to be Fulham for the home win
Match fact - The Cottagers are 12 points up on this same stage last season; Rovers are 12 points down.

Middlesbrough v Sunderland - Away win
Another Derby but not another draw in my opinion, Sunderland are playing with confidence at the moment and Cisse and Jones look a real threat together, Boro are notoriously difficult to predict results for but im going for an away win in this one.
Match fact - These are two of the most profligate clubs in the Premier League; both have squandered 13 points from winning positions. Only Manchester City are worse than that, having let 15 points slip.

Newcastle v West Ham - Scoreless draw
Looking like a dull no score draw im afraid, both teams are poor up front and both lack confidence, i think West Ham are playing the better football but can still see a scoreless draw.
Match fact - West Ham have not claimed three Premier League points at St James' Park since a 0-3 triumph on 31 October 1998, when Ian Wright got a brace.

Portsmouth v Man City – Away win
City have been awful of late to put it nicely, but they do have the players and i personally think they are going to come good. Pompy are struggling at the minute and i can see city, boosted by wayne Bridges debut, taking them to the cleaners.
Match fact - Amazing at its sounds, this is only the Citizens' second away league game on a Saturday this season, and their first to kick off at 3pm

Stoke v Liverpool – Away win
Liverpool continue to put the doubters to shame by grinding out wins all over the place and they will continue to do that at Stoke, the only difference will be that if torres plays it could be a complete walk over where as if not may be closer.
Match fact - This match pits, the Potters, founder members of the Football League in their first Premier League season, against the Merseysiders, who've been ever-presents in this league.
